Campus Master Planning

Inspiration

At Inspiring Place, we believe the idea of ‘campus’ is about how the spaces between buildings create a vibrant ‘learning landscape’. From our experience, we know a successful campus is framed around outdoor environments that encourage social interaction, play, exercise, spirited debate, reflection and quality formal education.

For +20 years, Inspiring Place have been providing advice to primary, secondary and tertiary learning centres about how their campuses might develop. The success of our work is indicated by the seamless integration we create between indoor classrooms and external learning and play spaces; as well as the connections we’ve made between buildings and surrounding neighbourhoods. Our goal in each case is to help students become informed about and comfortable in their life an evolving world.

Outcomes

In previous years, we've worked with the Department of Education (DOE) at the Jordan River Learning Federation ($0.6M), primary schools at Hilton Rise ($0.45M), Windemere (various totalling >$1M), Snug ($0.2M) and Blackmans Bay ($0.2M). We have also made important contributions to the planning, design and implementation of works at Ogilvie ($0.25M) and Huonville High Schools ($0.2M) and Montagu Bay Primary School ($0.2M).

Other projects include master planning and detailed design for the Dominic College expansion ($2.5M), St Aloysius College ($1M), Hutchins Middle School ($0.25M), St Brendan Shaw College ($0.5m), the Aboriginal Learning Centre at Risdon Cove ($0.625) and the Burnie TAFE campus ($0.5M).

In 2020, our master plans for the proposed Brighton High School and Legana Primary School have given the DOE the surety needed to purchase land and commit $40M to works on these sites.

Recognition

Most recently we have been engaged by the University of Tasmania to assist with a campus master plan and implementation of works for its Queens Domain campus – an ample reward for years of experience and success.
